Assisted Standing Pull-up

This machine helps you perform a pull-up by lifting some of your body weight for you. It mainly strengthens your back muscles (lats). It is a great choice if you want to build the strength needed to do a pull-up without help.

Assisted Standing Pull-up demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Set the machine to the weight and height that is right for you.
  2. 2Stand in front of the machine with your feet about as wide as your shoulders.
  3. 3Hold the handles with your palms facing away from you, placing your hands a little wider than your shoulders.
  4. 4Tighten your back and arm muscles, then pull your body up toward the handles.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the top and squeeze your back muscles.
  6. 6Slowly lower yourself back down to where you started.
  7. 7Do this again for the number of times you planned.
