Weighted Side Bend (on Stability Ball)

This exercise works your stomach muscles, specifically the sides of your waist, and helps your lower back. Sitting on the ball makes it harder to balance, which strengthens your core, while holding a weight helps build muscle.

Weighted Side Bend (on Stability Ball) demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on the ball with your feet apart and flat on the floor.
  2. 2Hold a weight in one hand and put your other hand on your hip.
  3. 3Tighten your stomach muscles and slowly bend to the side holding the weight, keeping your back straight.
  4. 4Stop for a second at the bottom, then slowly sit back up.
  5. 5Do this as many times as needed, then switch to the other side.
