Weighted Muscle Up

The weighted muscle up is a tough exercise for strong athletes. It works your back muscles and involves pulling your whole body up and over a bar while wearing extra weight. You need a lot of upper body strength and practice to do it right.

How to Perform

  1. 1Hang from the bar with your hands a bit wider than your shoulders and your palms facing away.
  2. 2Tighten your stomach muscles and pull your body up, leading with your chest.
  3. 3When you get to the top of the pull, roll your hands forward so your palms face your body.
  4. 4Keep pushing yourself up until your chest is over the bar, then stop for a second.
  5. 5Slowly lower yourself back down to the start, staying in control the whole time.
  6. 6Do this again for as many times as you need.
