Weighted Drop Push Up

This is a very hard chest exercise for strong athletes. You wear extra weight and do fast, jumping push-ups. You switch your hands between wide and close spots while you are in the air. This helps you build power and control.

How to Perform

  1. 1Get into a push-up position. Put your hands a little wider than your shoulders and keep your feet together.
  2. 2Lower your chest down to the floor. Keep your elbows close to your sides.
  3. 3Push up very hard so your hands fly off the ground.
  4. 4While in the air, quickly move your hands out wide and a little forward. Let your body fall back down.
  5. 5Land gently on your hands in the wide spot. Right away, lower your chest down again.
  6. 6Push up hard again. This time, move your hands back to the closer spot and land there.
  7. 7Keep switching your hands back and forth between the wide and close spots until you are done.
