Standing Lateral Stretch

This is a simple bodyweight move that stretches your side muscles and lats. You stand up and lean to the side to work your shoulders and waist.

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand up with your feet as wide as your shoulders and keep your knees a little soft.
  2. 2Reach your arms straight out to your sides so they are level with the floor.
  3. 3Gently lean your upper body to one side until you feel a pull along your side and back.
  4. 4Stay in this position for 15 to 30 seconds.
  5. 5Go back to standing straight, then do the same thing on the other side.
  6. 6Do this as many times as you need.
