Smith Wide Grip Bench Press

This exercise is for your chest muscles. You do it on a machine that helps balance the weight for you. You hold the bar with your hands far apart. It also makes your arms and shoulders stronger. Even though the machine helps, you must still move carefully and use the right form.

How to Perform

  1. 1Put the bench in the middle of the machine.
  2. 2Lie on your back with your feet flat on the floor.
  3. 3Hold the bar with your hands wider than your shoulders.
  4. 4Unlock the bar and lower it slowly to your chest while keeping your elbows out.
  5. 5Stop for a brief moment when the bar touches your chest.
  6. 6Push the bar back up until your arms are straight.
  7. 7Repeat these steps for your set.
