Smith Narrow Row

This exercise uses a machine to work your upper back muscles. You sit down and pull handles toward you with a close grip. It helps strengthen your back and the back of your shoulders while keeping your movement steady.

How to Perform

  1. 1Set the seat to the right height and sit with your feet flat on the ground.
  2. 2Hold the handles with your palms facing down, keeping your hands closer than your shoulders.
  3. 3Sit up tall with your chest out. Pull the handles toward you while squeezing your shoulder blades together.
  4. 4Hold still for a second when your hands are closest to your body.
  5. 5Slowly let the handles go back to where they started.
  6. 6Do this as many times as needed.
