Smith Hack Squat

The Smith hack squat is a leg exercise done on a Smith machine. It mainly works your butt muscles, but also helps your front thighs, back thighs, and lower legs. You do it by squatting while the bar rests on your shoulders to help you stay steady.

  1. 1Set the bar on the machine to a height that fits you.
  2. 2Stand with your feet apart as wide as your shoulders, with toes pointing out a little.
  3. 3Get under the bar so it sits on your upper back and shoulders.
  4. 4Hold the bar with your hands a bit wider than your shoulders.
  5. 5Tighten your tummy muscles and lift the bar to unlock it.
  6. 6Take a step back and place your feet slightly wider than your shoulders.
  7. 7Bend your knees to lower your body, keeping your chest up and your back straight.
  8. 8Go down until your thighs are flat like a table or a little lower.

  10. 10Do this for as many times as you need.
