Medicine Ball Supine Chest Throw

This exercise builds power in your chest, shoulders, and the back of your arms. You lie on your back and throw a weighted ball straight up into the air as fast and hard as you can.

Medicine Ball Supine Chest Throw demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Lie on your back on a bench. Bend your knees and put your feet flat on the floor.
  2. 2Hold the ball with two hands and reach your arms straight up over your chest.
  3. 3Bring the ball down to your chest while keeping your elbows close to your sides.
  4. 4Push hard to throw the ball straight up. Straighten your arms all the way and throw it as high as you can.
  5. 5Catch the ball carefully and do it again.
