Lever Military Press

This exercise is a shoulder workout performed on a steady machine. It mainly builds your shoulder muscles but also helps your upper chest and the back of your arms. Because the machine balances the weight for you, it is a safe way to build strength and learn the right movement.

How to Perform

  1. 1Set the seat height so you fit comfortably, then sit with your back flat against the pad.
  2. 2Hold the handles with your palms facing forward, placing your hands a little wider than your shoulders.
  3. 3Push the handles up until your arms are straight, but stop just before your elbows lock.
  4. 4Hold still for a second at the top, then lower the handles slowly back to the start.
  5. 5Repeat these steps for your chosen number of repetitions.
