Gorilla Chin

This challenging bodyweight exercise works your abs, forearms, and biceps. It uses a pull-up movement combined with tightening your stomach muscles to lift your chin over the bar.

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet as wide as your shoulders and bend your knees a little.
  2. 2Hold the bar with your hands wider than your shoulders, keeping your palms facing away from you.
  3. 3Hang down with your arms completely straight.
  4. 4Squeeze your stomach muscles and pull your body up until your chin goes over the bar.
  5. 5Stop briefly at the top, then slowly lower yourself back to the start.
  6. 6Repeat this for the number of times you want.
