Ez-bar Close-grip Bench Press

This is an exercise for your upper body that uses several muscles at once. It mostly works the back of your arms (triceps), but it also helps your chest and shoulders. You do this while lying on a bench, holding a wavy bar (EZ bar) with your hands close together to make your arm muscles work harder.

How to Perform

  1. 1Lie down on a bench with your feet flat on the floor and your back pushed into the bench.
  2. 2Hold the EZ bar with your hands close together (about as wide as your shoulders) and your palms facing forward.
  3. 3Lift the bar off the rack and hold it straight up over your chest with your arms straight.
  4. 4Lower the bar slowly down to your chest while keeping your elbows tucked close to your sides.
  5. 5Wait for a short moment when the bar touches your chest.
  6. 6Push the bar back up to the top until your arms are straight again.
  7. 7Do this as many times as you need to.
