Dumbbell Single Leg Squat

This is a tough leg exercise where you squat on one leg while holding weights. It works your bottom, thighs, and calves very hard. You need good balance and strength to do this move safely.

Dumbbell Single Leg Squat demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand tall with your feet apart, holding a weight in each hand.
  2. 2Lift one leg straight out in front of you and keep it in the air.
  3. 3Bend your standing knee to lower yourself, like you are sitting in a chair.
  4. 4Keep your chest lifted and your back flat.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the bottom, then push down through your heel to stand back up.
  6. 6Finish your set on one leg, then switch to the other.
