Dumbbell Shrug

The dumbbell shrug is a simple exercise for the trapezius muscles in your upper back. You hold weights and lift your shoulders up toward your ears to make your back stronger and bigger.

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet apart like your shoulders. Hold a weight in each hand with your palms facing your body.
  2. 2Keep your arms straight and let the weights hang down by your sides.
  3. 3Lift your shoulders straight up as high as you can, like you are trying to touch your ears.
  4. 4Hold your shoulders up for one second, then slowly lower them back down.
  5. 5Do this again for the number of times you want.
