Dumbbell Seated One Leg Calf Raise

This exercise focuses on the muscles in your lower legs, called the calves. You do it while sitting on a bench with a dumbbell resting on your thigh. It helps make your calves bigger and stronger. Your leg and bottom muscles also work a little bit to keep you steady.

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on a bench or chair. Keep your feet flat on the floor. Rest a dumbbell on your right thigh.
  2. 2Straighten your left leg out in front of you. Keep your left foot bent upward.
  3. 3Put the front part of your right foot on a raised object, like a step or a flat weight.
  4. 4Use your calf muscle to lift your right heel up as high as you can.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the top. Then, slowly lower your heel back down to where you started.
  6. 6Do this for as many times as you need. Then, switch to your other leg.
