Dumbbell Reverse Bench Press

This chest exercise is done while lying on a bench. You push dumbbells upward using an overhand grip. It strengthens your chest muscles, shoulders, and the back of your arms.

Dumbbell Reverse Bench Press demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Lie on your back on a bench with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
  2. 2Hold a dumbbell in each hand with an overhand grip so your palms face your feet.
  3. 3Push your arms straight up toward the ceiling, but keep your elbows slightly bent.
  4. 4Slowly lower the weights down to your chest, letting your elbows move out to the sides.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the bottom, then push the weights back up to the top.
  6. 6Do this again for the number of times you want.
