Dumbbell Rear Fly

This exercise works the back of your shoulders and your upper back. To do it, lean forward with a straight back. Then, lift the weights out to the sides like wings and squeeze your shoulder blades together.

Dumbbell Rear Fly demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet apart and hold a weight in each hand.
  2. 2Bend your knees a little. Lean forward at your hips, but keep your back flat.
  3. 3Let your arms hang straight down toward the floor. Your palms should face each other.
  4. 4Keep your elbows slightly bent. Lift your arms out to the sides and squeeze your shoulder blades together.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the top. Then, slowly lower your arms back down.
  6. 6Do this again for as many times as you need.
