This exercise is a single-arm shoulder press performed while sitting on a stability ball. It builds strength in your chest, shoulders, and triceps while forcing your core muscles to work hard to keep you balanced.

Dumbbell One Arm Press On Exercise Ball demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on an exercise ball with your feet flat on the floor and knees bent at 90 degrees.
  2. 2Hold a dumbbell in one hand at shoulder level, with your elbow bent and palm facing forward.
  3. 3Tighten your stomach muscles to stay balanced, then slowly push the dumbbell straight up until your arm is fully reached out.
  4. 4Hold briefly at the top, then slowly lower the weight back down to your shoulder.
  5. 5Finish all your reps on one side, then switch to the other arm.
