Crunch (on Stability Ball, Arms Straight)

This exercise works your stomach muscles and hips using a stability ball. Because the ball is unsteady, your body has to work harder to keep you balanced.

Crunch (on Stability Ball, Arms Straight) demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on the ball with your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent.
  2. 2Lean back until the ball supports your lower back and your upper body is flat like a table.
  3. 3Put your hands behind your head or cross them over your chest.
  4. 4Tighten your stomach muscles and lift your upper body, bringing your shoulders toward your hips.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the top, then slowly lower your body back to where you started.
  6. 6Do this as many times as you need to.
