Cable Standing Twist Row (v-bar)

This exercise works your upper back, biceps, and shoulders. You stand up and use a special V-shaped handle on a cable machine. While you pull the handle toward you, you also twist your body. This twisting helps make your tummy muscles stronger and improves your balance.

Cable Standing Twist Row (v-bar) demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Put the V-bar handle on the cable machine at chest height.
  2. 2Stand in front of the machine with your feet apart like your shoulders.
  3. 3Hold the V-bar with both hands so your palms look down.
  4. 4Step back a little bit to make the cable tight.
  5. 5Keep your back straight and tighten your tummy muscles.
  6. 6Pull the V-bar to your body by bending your elbows and squeezing your shoulder blades.
  7. 7While pulling, turn your body to one side and squeeze your back muscles.
  8. 8Stop for a second when the bar is close to you.
  9. 9Slowly let the bar go back and turn your body to face the front again.
  10. 10Do this again, but turn your body to the other side next time.
