Cable Reverse-grip Pushdown

This is a targeted arm exercise performed on a cable machine. Instead of holding the bar with your palms facing down, you hold it with your palms facing up. This underhand grip works your triceps muscles in a special way while also using your forearms.

How to Perform

  1. 1Connect a straight bar to the top of a cable machine.
  2. 2Stand in front of the machine with your feet apart, about the same width as your shoulders.
  3. 3Hold the bar with your palms facing up towards the ceiling. Keep your hands shoulder-width apart.
  4. 4Tuck your elbows tightly against your ribs and keep your upper arms frozen in place.
  5. 5Push the bar down until your arms are completely straight and your triceps squeeze tight.
  6. 6Stop for a second at the bottom.
  7. 7Slowly let the bar come back up to where you started.
  8. 8Do this again for as many times as you need.
