Cable Rear Delt Row (stirrups)

This exercise uses a cable machine to strengthen the back of your shoulders. It also works the muscles in your upper back and arms. You perform it by pulling a handle toward your chest with steady, controlled movements.

How to Perform

  1. 1Clip a handle to the low cable pulley and stand in front of the machine.
  2. 2Hold the handle with your left hand and step back with your right foot so your body is turned slightly.
  3. 3Bend your knees a little and lean forward at your hips, keeping your back flat and your stomach muscles tight.
  4. 4Start with your left arm straight and your palm facing the floor. Pull the handle to your chest by moving your shoulder blade back.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the top and squeeze your shoulder blade.
  6. 6Slowly let the handle go back to the starting spot. Repeat this for the number of times you want.
  7. 7Change hands and do the same steps with your right arm.
