Cable One Arm Lateral Bent-over

This cable exercise isolates the chest muscles using a bent-over position. It involves extending one arm out to the side to activate the pecs, with secondary support from the shoulders and upper back.

Cable One Arm Lateral Bent-over demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand in front of a cable machine with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. 2Hold the handle with one hand and take a step back until you feel tension on the cable.
  3. 3Lean your upper body forward at the hips, keeping your back flat and tummy tight.
  4. 4With a slight bend in your elbow, pull your arm straight out to the side until it is level with the ground.
  5. 5Slowly lower your arm back to the starting position, staying in control the whole time.
  6. 6Finish all your reps on one side, then switch to the other arm.
