Barbell Seated Overhead Triceps Extension

This exercise works your triceps muscles. You sit down and straighten your arms over your head while holding a barbell. It also uses your shoulders as secondary muscles.

Barbell Seated Overhead Triceps Extension demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on a bench. Keep your back straight and put your feet flat on the floor.
  2. 2Hold a barbell with an overhand grip. Keep your hands as wide as your shoulders and lift the bar straight up over your head.
  3. 3Bend your elbows to lower the bar behind your head. Keep your upper arms close to your head.
  4. 4Wait for a moment, then straighten your arms to lift the bar back to where you started.
  5. 5Repeat this for as many times as you need.
