Barbell Preacher Curl

The barbell preacher curl focuses on your biceps. You use a special bench to keep your upper arms still. This stops your shoulders from moving so your biceps do all the work. It uses a barbell to build muscle size and strength.

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on the preacher bench. Rest your upper arms on the pad and press your chest against the support.
  2. 2Hold the barbell with your palms facing up. Your hands should be a little wider than your shoulders.
  3. 3Keep your upper arms still. Breathe out and lift the bar up toward your shoulders.
  4. 4Stop for a second at the top and squeeze your arm muscles.
  5. 5Breathe in and slowly lower the bar back down to where you started.
  6. 6Do this again for the number of times you want.
