Barbell One Arm Floor Press

This one-arm exercise works your triceps, chest, and shoulders. You lie on the floor and push a barbell with just one hand. Because you must balance the long bar, it makes your core work hard to keep you steady.

How to Perform

  1. 1Lie on your back on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat.
  2. 2Hold the barbell in one hand with your palm facing up. Straighten your arm so the bar is directly above your chest.
  3. 3Slowly lower the weight until your upper arm touches the floor. Keep your elbow tucked near your side.
  4. 4Stop briefly at the bottom.
  5. 5Push the bar back up to the top position.
  6. 6Finish all your reps with one arm, then do the same with the other arm.
