Barbell Lying Extension

This strength exercise helps build your triceps muscles. It is often called a skullcrusher. To do it, you lie on a bench and lower a barbell to your forehead by bending your elbows. Then, you push your arms straight back up.

How to Perform

  1. 1Lie on your back on a bench. Put your feet flat on the floor and keep your head near the edge of the bench.
  2. 2Hold the bar with your hands as wide as your shoulders. Make sure your palms are facing toward your feet. Push your arms straight up over your chest.
  3. 3Keep the top part of your arms completely still. Bend your elbows to slowly lower the bar toward your forehead.
  4. 4Stop for a short moment. Then, push your arms back up to where you started.
  5. 5Do this again for as many times as you want.
