Barbell Drag Curl

This exercise works your biceps. You lift the bar while keeping your elbows pulled back. This makes your biceps squeeze hard and stops your shoulders from doing the work. It also uses your forearms.

Barbell Drag Curl demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet apart. Hold the bar with your hands underneath it and your palms facing up.
  2. 2Let the bar hang straight down in front of your legs.
  3. 3Keep your upper arms still. Lift the bar up toward your chest by using your biceps.
  4. 4Stop for a moment at the top. Then, slowly lower the bar back down to where you started.
