Alternate Lateral Pulldown

This machine exercise strengthens your back and arm muscles. You pull the handles down to your chest, taking turns with each side, to build muscle and power.

Alternate Lateral Pulldown demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on the machine with your back tall and your feet flat on the floor.
  2. 2Hold the handles with your palms facing away from you, keeping your hands wider than your shoulders.
  3. 3Lean back just a little bit. Pull the handles down to your chest and squeeze your shoulder blades together.
  4. 4Stop for a second when the handles are at your chest, then slowly let them go back up.
  5. 5Do this again for as many times as you need.
